Artist Statement
Since my adolescence, I always dreamed of living outside Brazil. When the opportunity really came, I embraced it with all my heart, my courage, and the hope of a better, more peaceful life. The everyday life here is not always easy, and some challenges are harder than others. Missing family, friends, the winter that takes time to end, the anguish of the visa that doesn't arrive, are some of these challenges.
Art therapy helped me focus on the now, lessening my anxiety and depression symptoms, and made me look holistically at my past and how much I've evolved. In my embroidery, I confirmed what I already knew: family is very important to me.
My Brazilian roots are strong, and I still have many dreams to fulfill.

Nice To Meet You!
My goals and accomplishments: to learn new things, and to grow a little bit every day. On one hand, still following a few established standards; on the other hand, with the freedom of being creative and expanding my horizons.
What I Left Behind
Memories of friends and family who helped me grow and become the person I am today. My strong roots that helped with the development of my personality.

A New Beginning
For 10 months, my husband stayed in Brazil
and I was already in Canada.
When he was finally able to come and stay with me,
we were both extremely happy.
Hope
My biggest dream - being a mother - and having a loving and happy family, where we appreciate one another.
