Artist Statement
After all, those who embroider always have something to say ❤️
Until naturally, one stitch pulls the other, and when you least expect it, a memory comes,
a new perception... it's embroidery approaching emotions.
And if I had any feelings that I still couldn't put into words… the embroidery reached those emotions and subtly untied the knot.
For me, this is the beauty of therapeutic embroidery, which goes beyond technique.
Queen
The change from old habits to new ones, a liberation, where I light up with purity, joy, peace and spirituality to discover more.
Horse
It is an expression of power, freedom and strength because animals can show empathy and understand emotions.
Immigration Trauma
Pre-immigration = Missing the family left behind, migrating from a developing country to a developed country.
Post-immigration = ISOLATION, FEAR, SOLITUDE, SADNESS.
Phoenix
I survived because the fire within me burned brighter than the fire around me: the power of STRENGTH, TRANSFORMATION, DISCOVERING SOMETHING NEW, CREATION, REBORN OF MYSELF, LIFE, HEAT, ENERGY AND LIGHT.
Adventure
Adventure is allowing the unexpected to happen to ME... Exploration is experiencing what I have not experienced before in this world and life.
To allow myself to new adventures, and to enjoy the exploration, because the purpose of life is to live it,
to savor it, to experience it to the fullest, to reach eagerly and fearlessly for new and richer experiences.
